Privacy and analytics choices
You can use the guides and affiliate links without accepting analytics. When optional analytics is available, Accept analytics and Reject analytics are equally prominent one-click choices. Reopen Analytics choices at the bottom of a page to change your choice. The status there tells you whether analytics is on, off or unavailable.
Optional analytics cookies
Google Analytics does not load until you accept. Acceptance allows analytics cookies to help measure visits, sessions and approved affiliate clicks. Advertising storage, ad personalization, advertising user data and Google Signals remain disabled by this implementation. Cookie-based analytics is not anonymous: Google also receives ordinary network and browser information, including your IP address.
Our analytics code uses a fixed list of public page addresses and titles. It removes query strings and fragments before loading analytics and sends only approved campaign codes mapped to fixed campaign names. Only approved referring domains are retained; their paths and query strings are discarded. Unrecognized pages, local ZIP-report paths, local development hosts and preview hosts are not measured.
We do not intentionally send email addresses, street addresses, ZIP codes, search terms, typed form values or arbitrary campaign parameters through our analytics events. This notice is not a guarantee that every third-party system is free of personal data.
Changing your choice
We remember your choice in this browser for up to 180 days when browser storage is available. Acceptance permits analytics cookies with a configured lifetime of up to 180 days. Browser rules and settings may shorten this. Rejecting stops new application events, disables both existing analytics destinations, removes known first-party Google Analytics cookies and reloads the public page to unload analytics only after the rejection is saved. If saving fails, analytics stays disabled on the current page, an error notice appears, and no automatic reload occurs. It cannot recall data already sent or cancel every request already in progress.
A missing, expired or unreadable preference keeps analytics off. Clearing site data removes the saved choice. Saved acceptance is not restored when browser storage is read-only. A session guard also keeps a rejected choice off on later pages in the same tab when session storage works. If both storage mechanisms fail, protection cannot be remembered after leaving this page and later restoring storage; fix browser storage and reject again before leaving. Other tabs check preference updates when supported by the browser. Returning through browser history checks your current choice again.
Affiliate links
As an Amazon Associate, AWQ earns from qualifying purchases. Rejecting analytics does not change commission tags or prevent links from working. Following a merchant link is subject to the merchant’s privacy rules. With analytics accepted, one affiliate click event records fixed merchant, offer and placement identifiers. It does not include link text, search terms, full link addresses or form values. We no longer write new first-touch browsing records; records saved by older versions may remain until you clear site data, and this version does not read them.
Other services and limits
Hosting and external page resources may receive ordinary network information independently of optional analytics. Signup and email-request routes remain unavailable. This notice does not create a newsletter signup or authorize email.
Read Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. Analytics choices are not a legal-compliance guarantee.
